recommend!

Very clean, very nice, staff is very friendly and nice.

wish room had some forks or spoons because we brought some leftover food from restaurant and staff at reception or staff at the bar didn't lend us any so we couldnt finish the food. not sure why staff at the bar didn't even offer us spoons when they clearly had them next to them.

What was the highlight of Universal Hotel Perla

Overall, an enjoyable stay.

My family and I enjoyed the buffet styled breakfast, lunch and dinner however we thought there could be more chicken options available as one of the members of our party only ate chicken. Otherwise, the variety was great and delicious. Pep Joan was particularly helpful and a wonderful receptionist who greeted us on our first night there when we checked in.

We visited during midspring and it would be nice to have a warmed pool and later pool hours since the sun sets at 9pm during these times. The hours for the sky deck was also very limited.

Good

The air conditioning was set to warm air only under management instruction. This was disappointing due to the warm weather as all of the other 5 hotels we stayed in that week had their air con switched to cool air. I can only assume this was a financial measure, poor judgement in my opinion

it was a very pleasant holiday

It is relatively new, very clean and right on the beach. The bar and restaurant staff are very friendly. The food is very good and fresh. The choice of alcohol drinks is also decent for a 4-star hotel The view from the Sky Bar is great.

Some of the rooms being offered as “side sea view” face a smaller hotel next door and have hardly any sea view at all. The restaurant is in the basement with a rather low ceiling and no entrance to the outdoor terrace. it can get too crowded when the hotel is full. The staff at the reception and the general manager can be quite rude and unwelcoming at times.

Close to the sea. Calm. Nice rooms

For check in and check out we spent more than half hour. There are two elevators, one really small, our stroller didn’t fit, other one big, but the problem was that elevators work as one. If you call big one you might get a small one because which one is closer that one is gonna come. So many time we just carried our baby stroller stairs.

Diversified breakfast, with many food options. The hotel was very clean, the housekeepers came daily. The location of the hotel is excellent, right next to the beach. Around there are many options to eat at various restaurants or bars.

The ladies at the reception should improve their English. I noticed that they speak German / French and Spanish, of course, but there are also tourists who only know English :). Otherwise, a good remark for the fact that they helped us with the optional excursions and, in general, with all our requirements.

I will hopefully return next year

I have stayed at this hotel before and was very happy I was returning one year later, unfortunately when I arrive at 20.00 hours I was informed by the receptionist that my room was not available until the following day due to an error on there system!!! I was told they had reserved a room for one day in an other resort 22minutes away and would pay for my return taxi!!! I was very disappointed and tired and was not happy with this arrangement, I had travelled by myself because it was a family and friend special occasion and a meal was booked for that evening which I was now late for. I asked if I could stay within the same radius as this hotel because the changes of me getting a taxi back to this resort then having to get a taxi back later that evening was not an option, they found me a local hotel within walking distance unfortunately the hotel was a little tired but by this time I was exhausted and late for my meal. The following morning I returned back to the hotel to speak to management and asked how this error occurred, I had received confirmation of the booking and did not receive from the hotel an email to inform me of there error before I arrived!! I was compensated with an upgrade on my room and I requested to be upgraded to ‘All Inclusive ‘ for all the inconvenience I had suffered, this was agreed and then I had a very pleasant stay and hopefully be returning next year.

Very Good

Beautiful location, good food, friendly staff, clean and modern rooms.

People are allowed to smoke on the hotel terrace near the main entrance (many tables are half-inside). The sea-wind blows everything into the building, you can even smell cigarette smoke two floors up and in the dining room.

A smart hotel in a great location in S'Illot, friendly staff and clean throughout.

Lovely room with air con and nice balcony, great sized bathroom equipped with hairdryer and shower gel which was great. Really good value for money for the time of year and great location in S'Illot right by the beach! The rooftop bar was a lovely addition which offers gorgeous views - and the cocktails were delicious!

The lifts were very slow and unreliable throughout our stay which was very frustrating. There was a lack of variety of healthy foods at breakfast which was disappointing. Also the towels in the rooms were quite hard, would have preferred a softer towel.
